Welcome to the 1st PhotosynthOS

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We are inviting you to the 1st PhotosynthOS Conference organized and hosted by three flagship institutions in photosynthesis research from Osijek: Agricultural Institute Osijek, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences & Department of Biology, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek in co-organization with Croatian Society of Plant Biologists. The conference will be held at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek in Osijek, Croatia on April 24-25 2023.

The conference will celebrate 20 years of chlorophyll a fluorescence measurements and related research in Croatia. Topics are focused, but not limited, to relevance of research in the field of photosynthesis and cover recent challenges in revealing mechanisms of adaptation and acclimation of agricultural crops to climate changes. Therefore, this conference will be a great occasion to confer previous, present, and future research on photosynthesis and to familiarize and motivate the young scientists and students to pursue scientific careers in photosynthesis research and broaden the applicability of indirect measurements of photosynthetic activity.

We are happy to announce that some of the confirmed keynote speakers will be Hazem M. Kalaji (Poland) and Marek Živčák (Slovakia).

There will be no participation fee for participating in the conference so we welcome all interested colleagues and photosynthesis enthusiasts to join us.

The official language of 1st PhotosynthOS is ENGLISH, therefore abstracts and all presentations should be prepared in English.
